Mainland Development Office is committed to serving as a bridge between the University and partner institutions and key stakeholders in Mainland China by:
- Liaising with Mainland institutions with a view to exploring collaborative opportunities in the areas of research and academic exchange; and
- Expanding the scope of academic and scholastic exchange between Mainland China and Hong Kong to enhance mutual understanding in relevant areas of interest.
On behalf of HKBU, the Office is responsible for handling Mainland-related matters; coordinating and promoting academic exchange and cooperation with Mainland universities; coordinating the reception of official delegations and visitors from the Mainland, Taiwan and Macau; coordinating and executing Mainland visiting scholar programmes; providing experiential learning opportunities for students in the Mainland; disseminating admission information to Mainland applicants; as well as supporting the administration of HKBU Institute for Research and Continuing Education (IRACE), BU Consultancy (Shenzhen) Limited (BUCS), Beijing Branch Office and Shanghai Branch Office.
